Spice Up Your Profile Page with a Cover Photo
Your Chumaround cover photo is like the headline of your page: it makes your page stand out and lure users into browsing the rest of your page with interest. Although it seems like such a simple concept, uploading a banner photo to help tell a story about who you are; there are some best practices you should keep in mind when making your Chumaround cover photo.
Use the right dimensions. ChumAround cover photo dimensions are 850 by 315 pixels for desktop view. This is the exact same dimensions as Facebook cover photos. This makes it easily for you to search the net for cover photos that will fit precisely into your profile page. Cover photo images that do not meet those dimensions will be resized to fit. This could negatively affect the quality of your image.
Crop your photo before uploading it. Chumaround does not crop your photos. You need to use a photo editing tool to crop your images before you upload them. If you use an image that’s smaller than the recommended size, it will get stretched, which could make it look very low quality. If you use an image that simply too big, you may receive an error message. If you don’t have a way to crop your photos, you can also quickly create cover photos online in just a few minutes. Here’s a list of sites that are quick, easy, and free:
Make Your Cover Photo Complementary to Your Profile Photo. Your cover photo and profile photo should look like a cohesive conjunction of elements. Although they should be different from each other, they should not be drastically different. They should complement each other, in color and size contrasts.
Make Sure Your Image Is Relevant and Family Friendly. The last thing you want to do is offend or turn off users with your cover photo. Keep your cover photo clean and family friendly. You also don’t want to use a cover photo that’s irrelevant to your personality and interests. The point of a cover photo for your profile is not to just to look good; it should also sum up what makes you – you!
Avoid copyright infringements. You must own (or license) the content of your cover photo so nothing in it violates any other person or entity’s copyrights.
Do not include prices, promotional messages, or purchase information. Chumaround is very clear in its effort to make sure cover photos are not ads. Therefore, your Chumaround cover photo must never include references to prices, purchases, or promotions. For example, your cover photo may not include messages like, “half price now,” “free shipping,” “20% off,” or any other message that could be considered promotional.
