Each local host sets their own hourly rate in their local currency which can be changed any time prior to a guest booking. Local host can choose to be prepaid for a chum around (Prepayment) or receive payment at the time of the chum around meeting (No Prepayment Required).

Prepayment is when a guest pays for your chum around in advance. When you book your host, this means you pay for the cost of the meeting at the time of booking instead of when you meet.

Prepaying for your chum around is highly recommended because it creates peace of mind knowing that both guests and hosts have commited to follow the agreed itinerary.

ChumAround uses 3rd party processor Stripe to process payments. We’ve selected Stripe because: Stripe aligns with our goal of providing a secure, and easy to use experience for our users; They provide superior customer service; They have an incredible 250 million worldwide users, and; With Stripe we know our customers will have peace of mind when booking you on the ChumAround platform.

Following in the footsteps of many popular travel platforms, we’ve created a No Prepayment Required booking option. This means that guests do not make an advance payment of any sort, but rather pay the local host when they arrive for a chum around. Please print and present your reservation agreement to your local host at the time of your meeting.

Tipping is never mandatory, but if your host really entertained you and provided an amazing experience then showing your gratitude is always welcome.
